Madrid Time

Hola! Buenos dias!

I made it safely to Madrid, and to my hotel.  That's the short story.  The longer version includes details such as my only piece of checked baggage (my special box containing walking poles, my knife, and a few assorted odds and ends to fill the box) did not arrive in Madrid with me.  It did make it as far as London.  Thank you, Air Canada.

The senor at the Iberia baggage claims counter was very accomodating and assures me that my package will be delivered to my hotel today before I need to check out.  There's 1 hour and 45 minutes left until that has to happen ...

My hotel is not in any kind of interesting neighbourhood for wandering and looking.  Sort of like staying in Nisku.  Assuming that I am (joyfully!) reunited with my missing stuff in the next couple of hours, I will then return to the airport to find a connection by bus to the train station.  Or at least that's what I think I'm doing.  My Spanish and the hotel staff's English are about on par with one another.
