Flora

The vegetation along the camino (so far) is very reminiscent of home.  There are, of course, varieties of plants that would never survive in our climate, but there are mixed forests of evergreens and deciduous trees, of a breadth and height similar to home.

There are also great numbers of wild berries growing in the fence rows along the side of the trail.  Blackberries - positive ID and quite delicious.  They are just ripening now, and were getting riper closer and closer to Pamplona as we came further south and further down the mountain to where it is likely warmer on average.

There are also some terrific blueberries.  I thought that they would have been finished by now - but they are plump and ... yes, I tasted them.  Definitely not blueberries!  I decided that I would play it safe and perhaps not experiment with any more poorly identified possibly poisonous edibles.

Don't they look like lovely blueberries?  Dry-sour like a chokecherry with a chokecherry kind of pit.
